What can I do to clear my record?

I am curious if it is possible to have a pc 261(a) conviction from 1994 expunged from my record. Or to not be on the Megan's Law website. I have 2 felonies on my record and have been out of prison over 1 year, currently on parole. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated!

Any sexual case that requires registration with the police as a convicted sex offender will always have that requirement. If you register with the police it is of public record and you will make Megans list. An expungement will not help you in this case. A finding of incidence from the court or a pardon from the governor is the only hope to get what you want.

You're not eligible for an expungement if you were sent to state prison. Your only hope is for a gubernatorial pardon, but that's an extreme long-shot. As far as I know, I don't believe Gov. Brown has signed a single pardon since he's been in office.

Expungements, which you seem to be alluding to, are very difficult re charges requiring registration. Also, your post is incomplete as it does not tell us if your prison commitment was for the PC261. If so, an expungement is not available.

If you went to prison for the Penal Code 261(a) there is nothing you can do until you have been free from custody for seven years. Generally speaking once a person has to register pursuant to Penal Code 290 it is extremely difficult to eliminate the registration requirement.
