What can I do to help my son and his criminal charges?

I have been trying to find help for my son. I can say his civil rights were violated and there is also an instance of police corruption. This suspect #2 that fled from a serious crime scene should have been arrested but they went out to question him on the following day. The morning of my son’s arrest I called her and she was staying at a relative that lived around the block from the park where this crime took place. She tells me, her cousin was there in morning and had this toy gun in his waist of pants. I ended up finding a lot of helpful information of my son’s defense by my son’s girl whom is cousin to suspect #2. We also find out this suspect #2 had been in prison for rape, robbery assault. But he was made a deal back when in prison facing all these charges. I'm a single mother whose only source of income is social security.

Your son needs an attorney. There is too much going on for anyone to solve this over the Internet. If he cannot afford an attorney he will be assigned a public defender.

What you can do depends on the charges and the facts of the incident. If you have information that shows your son is incident of the crime he was arrested for you may go to the investigating officer and tell him what you know. If the information you have came from other people then give the name, address and phone number to the officer. If you cannot do the above tell your son not to talk to anyone about the incident and if he is being questioned tell him to ask for an attorney to be present during the questioning. You should hire an attorney. I know that it is hard to spend the money for an attorney, however, you can get a free consultation. The price of an attorney is less than the price that goes with a conviction for a crime.

The best thing you can co is meet with a criminal defense lawyer to discuss your son's case. Many defense lawyers will meet with you in person to discuss the case for little or no money.
